Account Deletion Request
⚠️ Important Notice
Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Once your account is deleted, all your data including posts, photos, groups, and personal information will be permanently removed from our systems.
How to Request Account Deletion
Method 1: Through the App (Recommended)
- Open the Kitty Diary app on your device
- Sign in to your account
- Go to Profile (tap the profile icon in the bottom navigation)
- Scroll down and tap "Request Data Deletion"
- Confirm your request by following the on-screen instructions
- Wait for confirmation - we'll process your request within 30 days
Method 2: Email Request
If you cannot access the app, email us at notify@seawallsoftware.ca with:
- Subject line: "Delete My Account"
- Your full name
- The email address associated with your account
- Any additional information that may help us identify your account
What Data Will Be Deleted
When you request account deletion, the following data will be permanently removed:
- Account Information: Your name, email address, and profile information
- User Content: All your posts, comments, photos, and videos
- Group Data: Groups you created, your group memberships, and group activities
- Event Information: Events you created or participated in
- Authentication Data: Google/Apple sign-in information
- Device Tokens: Push notification tokens and device registration data
- App Activity: Your usage data and interaction history
- Media Content: All uploaded photos and videos from our servers
Data Retention Period
Processing Time: We will process your deletion request within 30 days of
receipt.
Backup Retention: Some data may be retained in our backup systems for up to 90 days
for disaster recovery purposes, after which it will be permanently deleted.
Legal Requirements: In certain circumstances, we may be required to retain some
information for legal or regulatory compliance purposes.
What Happens After Deletion
- Your account will be permanently deactivated
- All your personal data will be removed from our active systems
- You will no longer receive push notifications
- Your content will no longer be visible to other users
- You will need to create a new account if you want to use the app again
Alternative Options
Before requesting account deletion, consider these alternatives:
- Temporarily deactivate: You can simply stop using the app without deleting your account
- Remove specific content: Delete individual posts or photos you no longer want
- Leave groups: Remove yourself from groups you no longer want to be part of
- Update privacy settings: Adjust your privacy preferences to limit data sharing

Privacy and Security
